Our Roots

A Workshop Born
from a Dream in 1970

In 1970, our grandfather Moji Ram Dhiman set up a small carpentry workshop on the edge of Sonipat with nothing but a hand-plane, two chisels, and an unshakeable belief that honest work always finds a home.

He built beds, chairs, and almirahs for newly-wed couples and growing families. Every mortise was cut by hand. Every joint was tested before a nail was spared. Word spread not because of advertising, but because the furniture simply never needed replacing.

Today, his grandson leads the workshop — equipped with modern tools, certified timber sources, and a team of 40+ craftsmen — but the spirit of that original workshop lives in every piece we build.

The First Workshop
Moji Ram Dhiman opens a 300 sq ft carpentry shop in Sonipat with hand tools and a team of two. First piece: a rosewood marriage bed for a local family.
1982
First Showroom
Growing demand leads to Sonipat's first dedicated furniture showroom on GT Road. The Sheesham dining sets become a staple in homes across Haryana.
1995
Second Generation Takes the Helm
Moji Ram's son, Dinesh Dhiman, joins the business and introduces teak wood sourcing from certified forests — raising quality to a new standard.
2005
State Award for Craftsmanship
Haryana government recognises Vishavkarma Furnitures with the State Shilp Guru Award for preserving traditional joinery techniques while modernising production.
2015
Manufacturing Expansion
New 8,000 sq ft workshop with modern CNC equipment — allowing custom orders at scale while retaining all hand-finishing by trained artisans.
2024
Third Generation & Online Launch
Aniket launches the online store — bringing the legacy to customers across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR and beyond.
